The purpose of Metro But Good is simple - a basic app for the Washington Metro, with live and scheduled train times, that doesnt suck. We cant keep the tracks from catching on fire or bring all the 7000-series trains back into service, but we can give you easy, reliable data to help plan your commute or next adventure.

- Sort stations by proximity: No more scrolling through lists, panning across maps, or typing out long station names just to find the station closest to you (although you still can if you want). By default, Metro But Good gives you the closest station, ready to access, right at the top.
- Live AND scheduled train times: Whether youre trying to figure out how quickly you can make it up to U Street, or planning your future commute to Metro Center, Metro But Good tells you exactly how long itll take, with down-to-the-minute live trains and scheduled trains up to 30 days in advance.
- Route explorer: Tap a train to see exactly where it is on its route, when it left previous stations (or if its being held up in Maryland for some unexplained single tracking), and when its getting to each station in the future. Transferring? Tap on a station name to show all the other trains leaving that station, so youll know exactly how long youll be waiting in agony at Gallery Place (or whether you have 15 seconds to run to the other end of the platform).
- Group trains by direction AND destination: Are you just trying to get from LEnfant Plaza to Foggy Bottom? Do you need to take the Silver Line out to Dulles (still cant believe that actually opened)? Or do you enjoy the chaos of all trains in one long list? With flexible grouping options, you can make sure youre not just looking at the next train - but the next train that you need.
- Alerts: Alerts from the official WMATA feed and Metrorail Info Twitter account are combined in one convenient tab, giving you real-time info on train statuses throughout the Metro system.
- Busses (BETA): View live bus times for upcoming busses at nearby stops! Additional bus features will be coming soon!

More features are coming soon, but this app was built by an amateur developer with a full-time job, so "soon" may be relative! In the meantime, just enjoy this app for what it is - a really good way of taking the Metro.
